The Era of Real-Time Physics
Posted on May 27, 2010 at 12:24 PM.
The future of sports games is upon us and real-time physics is at the forefront. Backbreaker and its unveiling of the Euphoria physics engine have opened sports video gamers' eyes everywhere. Within the next couple of years, this will be in every single sports game we know and love because it is how sports games should all be...realistic and natural.

What is real-time physics you ask? Real-time physics is an approximate simulation of the human body and how it would react in any situation, including when colliding with another human (Collision Detection) and gives a real time, true to life result of what would really happen...

Imagine a football game such as Madden with real-time physics. The possibilities in every snap are endless because anything can happen and you will always see something new-just like in real life. There will never be a predetermined canned animation again.

EA, when you make Madden NFL 12, remember this post...

"EA, when you make Madden NFL 12, remember this post..." - I think they may already be well ahead of you. Dunno if you've heard about NHL and NBA Elite 11 using a real-time physics engine so u can bet your bottom dollar Madden 12 will use it, as well. It may not be in Madden 11 for a number of reasons including the engine was still not ready at the time of planning and development of Madden 11 or maybe it was ready and Madden 11 couldn't get it in without a ton of testing, or, or, or...Lol.
